I just had my shop wired for 220 and added extra outlets. I have a home made powder booth that I bought Eastwood filters for, I was going to use a household box fan to pull the air through the filters.
When the electrical inspector came, he was very concerned aboth the booth. He said he thought that the booth may have to be built just like a paint booth using an explosion proof fan. He was going to look into it, even call Eastwood and ask them what the flash point of the powder is. I haven’t heard back from him for 3 days now.
Do you guys use explosion proof fans in your powder booths? After reading lots of threads I haven’t seen it mentioned. It looks like they’re really expensive.
