My son bought a couple old kinda rusty exhaust manifolds (early Mustang) for a 50’s Ford, with a 302 in it, that we are restoring. I’d like to improve the manifolds appearance and provide some protection against further rust. I’d like to avoid blasting them as I am not sure where there is a reliable sand-blaster locally.

I looked at PN 10365Z the high temp coating and PN 11171 a manifold dressing. I did a search on the forums and both parts seems to have favorable reviews. I am not sure how to choose between them. Would it be possible to not sand/soda blast the manifolds with either product? What would the recommended surface preparation be?

The car will be a driver, not a show car.

Thanks in advance for any assistance!
