Hello. I am new to powdercoating, but attempted my first part today. It was a gas cap that is approximately 3″ in diameter. I was using high gloss black, but the part turned out dull like a flat or satin black. Otherwise it looks pretty good and the finish seems very durable. I believe I may have overheated the part to approximately 500 – 520F. Could that cause the flat finish? Is it possible that the powder was mislabled and is actually flat black?
Thanks in advance for any advise or help.
