Don’t understand the danger

I guess I just don’t quite understand the danger by using gas,propane, or diesel to heat a oven. I work as a welder and in most of the shops I’ve worked in that powder coated the ovens were gas fired.
Does Eastwood , Caswell, and some of these other companies sell a powder that is more “explosive” than industrial powders?
I can understand a cloud of powder igniting if your painting close to a open flame ,but I keep reading where the fumes are explosive.
BTW I use a 170,000 BTU heater to bake most of my parts so far no problems but I’m careful to air out the shop before starting the heater.
