Hi! I am restoring a 82 Yamaha Maxim motorcycle.:D I have painted the tops of my carbs with JUST LIKE CHROME and followed the directions applying Item No. 10200 Z DIAMOND CLEAR. It turned the chrome a grey(OK) but when some fuel spilled onto the top it melted the paint! 😡 I thought this Item No. 10200 Z DIAMOND CLEAR was fuel froof! I need to paint my gas tank now and was going to use the Item No. 10200 Z DIAMOND CLEAR for the top coat. I will also be spraying the buffed aluminum on the bike with Item No. 10200 Z DIAMOND CLEAR to prevent water spots. Is this the clear I should be using in these circumstances?
