    Hey guys,

I just finished tearing down my calipers. Next step is to get them clean. These calipers came off a z that had 180k on it, and i don’t think the brakes were ever cleaned. They’re CAKED with grease and dirt. Right now i’ve got the fronts soaking in a hot bucket of water with castrol degreaser in it. It’s loosening up the grime, and with a little elbow grease and a steel wool pad, they’re getting clean.

After i get the majority of the grime off, i’m gonna spray them down with brake cleaner, or scrub them down w/ some simple green(whichever works better).

Anyone have a better plan for getting them squeeky clean? After they’re cleaned up, can i just scuff them up w/ a maroon 3m scuff pad, hit them with some solvent, then spray them?
