I haven’t done any painting for many years. My first car was a 1952 Chevy that I painted in 1964 when I was 17. I used a new gold metallic that was on new Cadillacs that same year. I last painted a car 20 years ago. The materials are much different than they were but I think it will come back.

I plan on using urethane for primer, base, and clear. My question is what should I use for a solvent to clean my gun.

Oh, the Chevy. I did all the work myself. I even welded the hood seam using oxyacetylene without any warping. It turned out great. Pulled onto the street and turned toward home. The hood flew up and was folded over when it hit the roof. The roof was dented and the split windshield glass were both broken. Made a u-turn and started it all over. Didn’t forget the hood latch the second time.
