I am rebuilding the Carter WCFB carbs on my 57. I have cleaned the rust off of the linkages and base with a wire wheel. What is the best way to protect them from rusting again? I have been told that the bases were originally black oxide and the linkages were plated. I was told by an NCRS member that you have plating ‘look-alike’ spray paints. Is this true and would it work for my application?
