I recently bought EW Dual Voltage gun. In the manual, it states that smaller parts can be shot using the lower voltage setting, then, subsequent coats can be shot using the higher voltage setting. That makes sense, to me.

I recently sold an oven to a guy who just completed the PCI seminars. He hasn’t done any powdercoating, yet ( he’s still collecting all the necessary tools…).

I showed him the collection of Hot Coat powders that I bought. There are many that I haven’t tried yet. He told me that I wouldn’t be able to use the translucent colors, or other 2-coat powders, with my gun.

Is this true? I was going to try some samples, anyway, but I figured I’d ask here, first.

He also told me to use the diffuser all the time. I haven’t used it at all, yet. I’ve only coated a couple of pieces semi-gloss black, so I have a lot to learn.

Any comments? I appreciate the feedback.

    Rich
