Anyone built their own dedicated blast room? With winter coming on, and being sick to death of sweeping the driveway, I’m thinking about taking a 10’x10′ corner of my shop and making an enclosed space just for blasting. I’ve hunted around the net some but all of the sites I can find are for large scale plant operations and mega-buck systems. I’m not going to the extreme of rubber coated walls or an automated media reclaim system. Just something simple, mostly isolated from other operations in the shop. Basically a walk-in blast cabinet. For ventilation I know I need an air velocity of about 50/fps for alum. ox. which sizes the fan at 5000 cfm. A dust-tight door & light fixtures are going to be needed. Anyone given much thought to this or tried it?
