I built this to help cut down on my polishing time for the lips on rims. It is a lazy suzanne assembly the same as used in swivel chairs sandwiched between 2 18″ boards. I used 1X2 for the hold downs. Once everything is positioned correctly all I have to do is keep some resistence on the rim so it does not free wheel and add compound every couple of turns. This is not a “safe” set up as many things could go wrong, so if any one were to try something similar you do so at your own risk.
