I have some rust starting to form on a rear quarter panel.
I brought the car to a couple of shops for estimates. Most were going to sand and paint.
I am fine with not cutting and replacing the metal. It’s a driver and not a high value car (Although, it doesn’t see rain or snow).
I am concerned with not treating the metal/rust first. Should a converter and encapsulator be used if the rust is going to be sanded down to bare metal?
I assume the rust will come back but I would like to make sure I can get a few years out of the repair.
