I asked this in the metal buffing section, but only 1 response. I am going to begin repairing and buffing the stainless and aluminum trim on my 67 Fairlane. I’ve read a couple of different comments from various people on how to protect the metal to keep it from oxidizing afterwards.
I do have your powder coat system, but my oven is not big enough, even with the extention to bake some of the longer pieces of trim.
What do you recommend as far as powdercoat and/or lacquer, etc. that will work best? There is flat black paint in the inserts that is in good shape, so am hoping to preserve that during the buffing, by taping it off. Will heat from powder coating damage this paint?
