I have a blast cabinet that is fairly large (48″ x 36″). I built this cabinet over 25 years ago and have used sand in it. I would like to switch the media to something new that is less dusty and more efficient than the sand. I’ve looked at the various media sold by Eastwood which is shown as sold by weight. Since my cabinet is large, I need enough media to continually cover the siphon tube. I typically buy three 80lb. bags of sandblasting sand (whatever grade I can get)
when I replace the sand. Is there any way to estimate the volume of the crushed glass, aluminum oxide, or other media sold in 50lb. bags?
