I just had a wheel straightened at a local wheel repair shop. That had a sweet looking color, but I can’t figure it out. Too me (a layman), it looked like a chrome base with a translucent black over it. It was a real deep looking finish.
I have looked at some of the pictures of black chrome on here, but the pictures look less like chrome and more of a grey/charcoal. Any idea on how to replicate the look?
They also mentioned some new process that they were using to replicate chrome plating. He explained that the material was applied using some sort of vacuum apparatus. The chromes looked really close to the real thing. Is this guy playing yanky with my wanky?
