I am preparing to powder coat some aluminum valve covers using the black chrome powder coat. I know to first coat with the plain “almost chrome”, cure it, the come back with the black chrome on top. My question is: being that the black chrome is a “tint” over the almost chrome, how do assure that I put on an even cover over the entire valve cover? Having not done this before on a large item, it seems that it may be easy to get irregular covering of the powder causing dark/light place in the finish. Or do I just coat it “heavily” with the black chrome? Thanks.
