A recent issue of Auto-Restorer includes an article on baking soda blasting as an alternative to sand/ shell/ glass bead blasting. Apparently the soda blasting is less damaging to the surface, can be done at home (with minimal equipment), and provides a surface [coating?] that remains rust free for some period of time after blasting. Is this information correct? Are there drawbacks other than those the article mentioned (mostly concerning dust inhalation)? Is Eastwood going to sell a soda blasting kit in the near future?
