Hello all, newibie here. I have a 2005 S Type Jaguar that the “chrome” window weatherstripping is oxidized. It is anodized aluminum and I am planning on using a brush on paint stripper to remove the clear coat then apply aluminum polish while trim is attached to vehicle. Am I crazy to attempt this procedure at least while its on the car (to remove the weatherstripping is a royal PITA as I found on my research)? I am planning to tape off all body paint and rubber and appling with a modelors paint brush. I have tried the wet sanding starting at 600 and working up to 2000. This removed the oxidation but there is still clear coat and no shine.

    Thank you in advance!

I’ll post before and after pics to this thread as I figure out what to do.
