I’m about to start work on a 73 two door 302 Maverick. At this point I want to stop any further rust from developing. The car was stored in an underground parking lot of an apartment building for 21 years and has light rust on the inside painted surface of the wheel wells. I ordered two cans of Eastwood Rust encapsulator in the white color. The present color of the car is white, so I thought this might work well and I can cover the encapsulator with the original Ford white paint. The rust is not bad enough to bother cutting out the wheel wells at this point and does not have enough rust to use the Eastwood rust converter.
Had anyone had much success with slowing down rust in wheel wells using this technique? Thanks.
