Hi everyone! I’ve been reading this forum for a while now and finally got to try it for myself. I spent most of this weekend sand blasting (no, I’m not really using sand) and coating. All in all I’m thrilled with the results although I did have a few imperfections.
FWIW, I’m using the Eastwood dual voltage gun and all these parts are off a Porsche 944s engine.
EW Gloss Black
I think I was a little thin on the powder and I seem to have some dust under the powder. After these pieces I started blowing the pieces off with compressed air immediately prior to coating.
Oil dipstick tube and a couple coolant tubes in EW Mirror Red
The large tube gave me some problems. First off, it had some surface rust which left large pits even after sand blasting it. second, I got some weird stuff in the finish. Anyone know what causes this?
