What is Eastwood Heavy-Duty Anti-Rust?

Rust isn’t a new problem and manufacturers of automobiles, tools, machinery, planes, trains, and much more have been trying to find ways to prevent, stop, and treat rust since the dawn of time. Early-on auto manufacturers weren’t too concerned with rust proofing a vehicle and they were simply riveted together with barely a coat of paint between panels. As time went on they noticed that vehicles were rusting out quick and more was done to quiet vehicles inside and also seal out moisture. The automotive aftermarket was also born during this time and garages began offering “rust proofing” services where cars were drilled in numerous places (rockers, door jambs, A and B Pillars, etc) that allowed a wand to shoot special rust proofing coatings. During the 1950’s and 1960’s auto manufacturers and garages did their best to stop rust from spreading as quickly and allow cars to last longer. The coatings used varied by manufacturer but one thing they all had in common was that they sealed the metal from air/moisture contacting the metal. Here at Eastwood we decided to design a formula that matched the consistency of OEM coatings and also outperform the original coatings done “back in the day”.

Enter Eastwood Heavy-Duty Anti-Rust. This coating was designed to be applied by the home hobbyist and can work on anything from a 100-year old antique to your brand new Ford F-250. So what is Eastwood Heavy-Duty Anti-Rust? It’s a super-durable coating that produces a satin black or amber, waxy, oily finish that flows into crevices, then sets as a flexible, watertight coating. It can be used to protect freshly machined surfaces and bare metal parts in storage, and also to seal inaccessible body seams. Heavy-Duty Anti-Rust works with your undercoat spray gun or in an self-contained aerosol form to apply an amber or black, waxy film that sticks to bare metal or painted surfaces, and won’t crack, flake or peel. Use inside frames, doors, rocker panels or on any exposed surface where painting will not be required.

Whether you just got a new vehicle or are preserving a classic Heavy-Duty Anti-Rust is one of the best rust preventative coatings we’ve found yet and has been one of our go-to’s each year as we go into winter!
